Congratulations to BAU BAU, the Italian team from Leonardo Da Vinci of Pistoia are the first national winners to be announced and have blown us away with their inspiring performance throughout their Water Explorer journey.
The five Italian finalists gathered in Milan on Monday 16th June and spent the day not only competing for the winning title but also sharing experiences and making new friendships. The teams shared photos, videos, poems and other materials they had created throughout their Water Explorer projects and focused on showcasing the part of the programme that inspired them the most.
The students of BAU BAU have demonstrated their commitment to the programme by involving local communities in water saving actions and have incorporated the Water Explorer values into much of their work.
Leonardo Da Vinci received a prize fund of 200 Euros to spend on school equipment and other water related materials. The other 4 contenders were rewarded for their hard work with an annual subscription to a scientific journal.
Completing Challenges will help you climb the Water Explorer leaderboard. In addition, your project work can be used to support CREST and Eco-Schools Awards.
